Massage Stones
(Gua Sha)
Massage stone massage, also known as "gua sha" in traditional Chinese medicine, is an instrument assisted soft tissue massage technique that involves scraping the skin and kneading the muscles with a smooth-edged massage stone to stimulate blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. These stones are used by massaging the target location and utilizing pressure to help release the muscles.

Massage stones often leave a redness on the skin which is a result of inflammation dissipating. In Chinese medicine, the redness or bruising caused by the scraping action is known as "sha," which is believed to release stagnant energy and toxins from the body. Massage stones, or gua sha, is often used for lymphatic drainage and to alleviate muscle pain.
Cupping
Cupping, or myofascial decompression, is a therapeutic massage technique that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction, promoting blood flow and relieving muscle tension. Traditional massage work utilizes downward pressure while cupping utilizes upward pressure, lifting the fascia and puling inflammation to the surface.

Cups are positioned according to an individual's muscle pain and injuries, and are either left for 1-3 minutes or are glided around in a swirling motion. Cupping often leaves red marks, often darker in areas that were more oiIt can be used to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and improve overall well-being. Cupping massage therapy offers a unique and effective approach to muscle work and pain relief.
Percussion Tools
Percussion massage guns are handheld tools that combine vibration and pressure to provide deep tissue massage therapy. These tools generate high-frequency vibrations or percussions that can target specific muscle groups and alleviate muscle tension, soreness, and stiffness. As a massage tool, the percussion massage gun works by delivering rapid pulses of pressure to the muscles, promoting increased blood flow and circulation. This can help to reduce muscle inflammation, improve flexibility, and enhance overall muscle recovery. The device is often used by athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and individuals seeking relief from muscle pain or discomfort. The massage gun's effectiveness lies in its ability to penetrate deep into the muscle tissue, reaching areas that may be difficult to target with traditional massage techniques. The intensity and speed of the massage can usually be adjusted to suit individual preferences and needs.
