Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy is the customization of yoga practices for individuals with a variety of medical conditions. In Yoga Therapy, a prescription for specific flows of postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques is applied to meet individual needs.

Medical research shows that Yoga Therapy can be an effective and complementary therapy, helping to alleviate such conditions as anxiety, stress, musculo-skeletal disorders, fatigue, and acute & chronic pain.

The use of Yoga Therapy is restorative in many aspects, and calming in others. The foundation of the therapeutic effect is the understanding of the body and mind as an integrated system, which can function optimally only when there is a state of dynamic balance.

Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall body alignment and posture. In physical therapy, Jennifer uses pilates as a therapeutic tool to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of various musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. It emphasizes controlled and precise movements, targeting specific muscle groups to improve strength, stability, and range of motion.

Pilates exercises can be modified to accommodate individuals with different abilities and limitations, making it suitable for a wide range of patients in physical therapy.  It can help in the rehabilitation of conditions such as back pain, joint injuries, post-surgical recovery, and balance and coordination issues. By focusing on core strength and stability, Pilates can help improve body mechanics and alignment, reducing the risk of future injuries.
